HSUPA services available for TOPEX Bytton router
TOPEX has recently entered into a partnership with Sierra Wireless for the provision of HSUPA modules for Bytton routers.
Using HSUPA option, the Bytton router enables mobile data uplinks at speeds of up to 1.44 Mbps. In this way, the users of this equipment take the advantage to access the 3G broadband mobile data services at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps across all 3G network coverage and to enjoy more services and better communication experiences.
The migration from HSDPA to HSUPA is driven by the increased demand for uplink higher speeds.
HSUPA enables high-speed uplink data communications such as voice over internet protocol (VoIP) and interactive multimedia with improved data speed and shorter latency. At this moment there are 32 HSUPA networks in service and 24 in deployment all over the world and analysis forecasts 255 million active VoIPo3G users by the end of 2012.
HSDPA and HSUPA both offer high voice and data performance and together will enable the success of mass-market mobile IP multimedia. HSUPA enhances the uplink speed of UMTS / WCDMA networks initially to 1.4Mbps and in later releases up to 5.8Mbps.
Traditional business applications along with many consumer applications will benefit from enhanced uplink speed.
HSUPA is a data access protocol for mobile phone networks which is considered to be 4G.
HSUPA connects the advantages of UMTS - wide network coverage in the final development and an application for use while on the move (e.g., driving vehicles). The systems have the advantages of radio-based local networks and WLAN in providing low cost broadband Internet. HSUPA should also be relatively inexpensive, because it is based on software. No new infrastructure needs to be developed or installed by the mobile network providers. Their network equipment needs only to be updated with new software.
