Client requirements
From the start of ATMs (Automatic Teller Machine) implementation in banking industry, transactions have been done through connectivity over fixed lines. In emerging markets this method has some important limitations regarding flexibility, cost and back-up solutions.
ATM’s initial emplacement and ulterior relocation depend on the existing fixed network in area. Facing the difficulty to access bank server cards, the client it’s looking for a solution to overcome the lack of wired networks for ATMs and POS.

Technical Details
BYTTON router family provides IP data connections using varied terminals (ATM, POS, web-cam) and different wireless technologies as GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 900/1800/1900 MHz, HSDPA/UMTS 2100MHz: 2100 MHz, CDMA 1x / EV-DO 450 MHz.
Regarding functionality, TOPEX family equipments are completely Plug-and-Play.
Hardware details are: Switch Ethernet (4+1 ports), WiFi 802.11bg access point, USB 2.0 (4 ports), serial (2 ports RS 232).
It have extended capacity for ATM’s connectivity either internal, on serial port RS 232, either external, on USB ports or Ethernet. TOPEX BYTTON is endows with external antenna for assuring even inside the buildings an excellent quality of signal.
The features equipments assure a strong management of data’s connection through automatically connecting and disconnecting in case of IP’s traffic presence or absence, connect permanent monitories, connect initiated at a distance through phone call or SMS and connects on workstation of multiple data (back-up, connection of minimum cost). In addition supported protocols are numerous by-path: PPP, PPPoE: PAP authenticate, CHAP and VJ compressions, Deflate, MPPE/MPPC; L2TP; PPTP.
The IP functionality is achieved on Linux operating system and comprises IP addresses allocation (Server and client for DHCP, IP PnP), static and dynamic routing (RIPv2), address translation, firewall, VPN, pass-through, multiple GRE tunnels and IPSEC tunnel.
